COVID-19

REALIZE: IF WE DO NOT CHANGE BEHAVIOR, WE WILL RESTART A NEW CURVE.

COVID-19 RECOMMENDATIONS –Office Space

INTRODUCTION: As we are at the beginning stages of COVID-19 disease mitigation steps, including Social Distancing and Isolation, we need to start looking at what needs to change when everyone is called back to work.

While the hope is to ‘flatten the curve’, what will happen once we hit the right side of that curve?

REALIZE: IF WE DO NOT CHANGE BEHAVIOR, WE WILL RESTART A NEW CURVE.

WHAT CAN BUSINESS AND EMPLOYEES DO TO MAKE A SAFER WORKPLACE?

WHAT CAN BUILDING ENGINEERS DO TO MAINTAIN A SAFER WORKSPACE?

Preface:

At this point in time, while we do not know why certain people, regardless of age are more affected than others –we do know a lot about how it behaves indoors, on surfaces and in the air.  We know more about how we get infected.

More Importantly: We do have existing technologies available to address these characteristics.

PURPOSE: This AIFET COVID-19 POSITON DOCUMENT seeks to use existing knowledge to develop a set of Recommended Best Practices for when we return to the workplace.  This document addresses primarily Commercial Office Space.

Objectives:

1. Provide a one page Best Practices Recommendation for distribution and posting.  It lists the 7 Levels of Action Items for Employees, Engineers and Management.

2. Provide a Position Statement Document with references supporting recommendations.

  • This 21 Page Peer Reviewed Document explains the elements of the 7 Levels of Best Practices, including all citations and tables.  It is available by writing to info@aifet.org.
  • Ask about our 2-hour Seminar available in-house.
